Indications
A- Epilepsy: Gabapentin is approved for the treatment of partial seizures (also known as focal seizures) and mixed seizures in adults and children with epilepsy.
B- Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN): Gabapentin is indicated for the management of postherpetic neuralgia, which is a type of chronic nerve pain that can occur after an outbreak of shingles (herpes zoster).
C- Neuropathic Pain: Gabapentin is prescribed for the treatment of neuropathic pain, which can result from various conditions, including diabetic neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, and other nerve-related pain syndromes. It may also be used off-label for conditions like fibromyalgia and chronic pain syndromes.
D- Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS): Gabapentin may be used to relieve the symptoms of RLS, a neurological disorder characterized by uncomfortable sensations in the legs and an uncontrollable urge to move them. .
